AMAZON'S HYPERLOCAL INDIA PLAY

Amazon is now increasing it's local presence in India by going hyperlocal. This means customers in India can order food, beverage, and other items and Amazon will deliver them from the convenience stores nearby. Basically, local sellers can "upload" their goods online and Amazon, with the help of urban bikers, will handle the delivery by placing the goods in large bags and delivering them to individuals. The biker approach works great due to India's very congested roadways. So speed and efficiency works in their favor.

Amazon has grand aspirations for the Indian market and they view this as progress to some of those goals.
