There seems to be this bearish perspective in regards to the future of GoPro, Inc. (GPRO). Is it a tech company or a media company? Is it both?

What GoPro has going for it now is the fact that people love their product. They're not extremely high priced and customers use them...a lot. But what can the company do to capitalize on that? How about creating some shows (leaning more towards extreme sports) using their own cameras?

There is great talk that is the direction that GoPro is going to choose for growth. The path of a media company. But as of now the "street" is not buying it because they have some many competitors that range from Microsoft (MSFT), Sony (SNE), Amazon (AMZN) and even Apple (APPL). Competitors in the sense of technology companies already well established in the media arena. And not to mention that they have a war chest that will crush GoPro.

Maybe GoPro is a possible takeout target? Only time will tell.
